Amija: “There isn’t other happiness than peace”
01/10/2021 - News
With the beginning of October we wish to share a brief but intense testimony of a young woman, Amija, who, with her words, accompanies us in her memories as a child welcomed and grown up at the Holy Family Catholic Center.
Thanks to support that she received, like so many other children before and after her, they were able to find a certain future and in these words she wanted to testify her gratitude towards those who welcomed her in this part of her life.
“There isn’t other happiness than peace. With this “Thai proverb” I like to remember the years I spent at the Center. For me it was simply “Ban”, home.
There wasn’t a blood bond among all of us children, but such affection and bond had been created that we could consider ourselves brothers and sisters.
Later, I had the opportunity to return what had been given to me by working for a few years in the staff and becoming a point of reference for the little ones: I looked after them and did not make them feel the absence and distance of mum and dad.
I would like to say thank you for the love and friendship that I received from the first day. Even today, when the opportunity for a meeting presents itself, I try to return to the Center: that indelible imprint it left in me gives strength and courage to face the trials of life”.
