
An exceptional visit at the “Saint Michel” Care Center

An exceptional visit marked the “Saint Michel” Care Center on Sunday 9 August, which welcomed Pierre Somse, Minister of Health and Population of the Central African government.
The minister arrived to Bouar the civil hospital for the inauguration and opening of the COVID-19 department gifted by the United Nations present in the country through MINUSCA (the United Nations integrated multidimensional stabilization mission in the Central African Republic).
Accompanied by Dr. Ione Bertocchi, health coordinator and trainer in Central Africa for over 50 years, the minister was welcomed by brother Angelo Sala, the director of the Center, who, after a visit within the Care Center, showed the reports of the annual work.
The minister was able to observe the data relating to the “Covid-19 exams” given that, with the spread of the pandemic also in the Central African country, the “Saint Michel Care Centre” was indicated and recognized as a specialized center. At the moment, 26 tests have been carried out, of which 8 have given positive results.
According to the latest report by the Ministry of Health, dated 7 August, 4,641 cases have been confirmed in the country, of which 1721 recovered and 60 deaths.
